Description
The 56-45-27 Polished Bore Receptacle is rated 15K and has a maximum stroke
of 32 feet for extreme tubing movement during well treatment and production. The
seal assembly consists of (1) Teflon Debris Barrier and (3) K-Rite Chevron Seal
stacks. The seal assembly can be pinned to the PBR with a maximun of (16)
10,000 pound shear screws, reduced by removing screws. The number of screws
used is determined by the weight of tubing below the PBR. The shear screws must
be of sufficient strength to sustain the weight on the slick joint when running the
entire assembly into the well bore. The shear screws can be sheared by applying
an upward force.
Well preparation
Prior to running packer/completion ensure the well is clean by making a scraper
run to remove scale and other materials from the casing wall. Follow scraper
with gage ring and junk basket. Circulate 2/3 of the well's volume with solid free
completion fluid. Casing should have 100% cement bond before running in the
well. Never set packer in casing collar or where milling has occurred. Always set
packer/completion in static well conditions (no fluid or gas movement).
Operation
The 56-45-27 PBR is used in conjunction with the 45-27 Hydro-Set Anchor Latch
Seal Unit. The 45-27 Hydro-Set Anchor Latch Seal Unit is made up to the desired
companion packer via left hand thread. Note the packer below must withstand
160,000 pounds of tension required to disconnect from PBR. The Anchor Latch/
Packer assembly is threaded to the lower end of the 56-45-27 PBR. The entire
assembly can be run in and set on tubing string in one trip. The 56-45-27 PBR and
packer assembly is run several feet below the desired depth. Pick up slowly to
setting depth to remove slack from tubing. Slowly pressure tubing string to required
psi to set packer. Overpull predetermined value and disconnect Seal Assembly
from PBR. Shear Out Subs should be dressed with a shear value above that which
is required to set the packers. If a wireline blanking plug is used, retrieve using
normal wireline procedures. During the setting operation of the Model "DB" Packer
a hydraulic stretching of the tubing will occur and will result in the tubing being
landed in tension. After running the completion to target depth, install/test tubing
hanger, nipple down BOP and install tree. Ensure the packer is not set in a casing
joint.
Release of PBR and Anchor Latch Seal Unit from Packer
Remove PBR Seal Assembly. Sting Retrieving Tool in PBR and set down
approximately 2,000 pounds weight to insure latch threads are fully engaged.
While maintaining a slight tensile load, approximately 2,000 lbs., rotate the tubing
15 turns to the right at the packer. This unscrews the PBR and Anchor Latch from
the left-hand square threads in the top of the packer. |
